They say it takes two to tango, but since we don’t teach ballroom dancing, we’ll stick with any of these other options:
- It takes two to do bag holds
- It takes two to do Thai pad rounds
- It takes two to do technical drilling
Whether you’re looking for a new workout or you’re wanting to learn practical self defense skills, Muay Thai is a great training option. It’s even better when you’re training with someone you care about!
Don’t just take our word for it. We asked some KruFit couples and families to share why they love training together.
Here’s what they had to say:
“Being able to train together has been awesome for both of us. We really enjoy being able to participate in a shared interest and we enjoy the quality time together. Between work, errands, projects, raising children, and everything else life holds, it’s difficult to find that time to enjoy something together. Participating in Muay Thai together at KruFit puts us on the same schedule in the evenings and gives us a fun, active hobby to enjoy with one another.” – Jared & Holly
“The KruFit crew and coaches have always been very welcoming to me and my 11 year old daughter. Not only do we get to learn life skills (while getting one of the best workouts in the world), we also get to bond at home over what we are learning. This is something I hold close to my heart and I appreciate KruFit providing this opportunity for us!”– Yog H.
“Before we started Muay Thai, Michael and I weren’t able to spend as much time together as we had our own sports and activities. Joining KruFit provided us a chance to achieve our fitness goals together in a favorable environment and safe-space. In turn, we were able to strengthen our sister-brother bond while doing what we love most.” – Bella W.
“I started martial arts before my wife, and one of the hardest things was getting to the gym when on days that I was emotionally tired. Having my wife train with me has helped with accountability. The best part is that on days where I may be tired or just mentally drained, I can partner with her and she already knows how I am feeling and I can train at the pace I need to that day.” – Trevor S.
“I LOVE that I’m able to train Muay Thai with my husband. Whether we’re drilling footwork or punching/kicking the crap out of each other, there’s an immense closeness you feel when you’re engaging in a combat sport with someone you love deeply. At the end of the day, though, I’m happy we can beat each other up and then go back home full of love and support for one another.” – Felicia S.

“KruFit gives my 3 boys (ages 10, 8, and 5) an opportunity to train and develop new skills together. Having them in the same class creates shared memories and healthy competition.” – Steve J.
“I love training Muay Thai with my daughter! Growing up, health and wellness was not made much of a priority in my house. After watching my father struggle with his health and then his death I vowed that I would do everything I could to not have to put my daughter through the same experience. KruFit has been my refuge and my happy place! Taking my daughter to the kids’ class and then watching her choose working out alongside her dad versus playing on her iPad melted my heart and let me know I’m setting the right example for her!” – Adam V.
“Going to the gym as a family really helps keep every member feeling motivated. It’s awesome when you can really support each other because everyone is sharing the same experience. It’s also easier to get to the gym because, for once, everyone has the same thing scheduled! As a parent, it’s hard to do anything for yourself when you’re juggling your kids’ activities.” – Rebecca R.
“We both work demanding jobs and don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like during the week. Add on top of that trying to find time to workout, and we would lose even more time. One of our favorite things about working out together at KruFit, aside from learning Muay Thai, is that we can do it together. KruFit offers high quality instruction and makes it fun while allowing us to push each other while getting better together. But it’s not all super serious; we often have the most fun training together when we make mistakes or end up laughing after attempting a new move.” – Justin & Sydney
